Wow here we are the year is 1981 and some of us already have been born and maybe only two years old or maybe you are finally being born, but still what an exciting time to be for the movies. So I do have the top 5 movies of 1981 which is kinda of surprise with a couple named movies and one of them I don’t know much but reading a little about it. So let’s dive and and see what I got for all you movie buffs !!

Yes the Number 5 movie is Stripes with one of the most awesome cast I have ever seen in one movie. in 1981 Ivan Reitman American action comedy movie, Staring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Warren Oats, POJ Soles, Sean Young, And John Candy. Ramis who wrote the film with Len Blum and Dan Goldberg. Movie was Released June 26, 1981 and it gross close $1.9 Million Dollars and it was on 1074 movies screens on opening day. Stripes was well received by the critics and the audiences. I do love this movie it’s funny as hell and plus a lot of younger actors John Larroquette, Judge Reinhold, Bill Paxton just to name a few.

The Number 4 Movie of 1981 is the romantic comedy that was written and directed by Steve Gordon Arthur. This movie stars Dudley Moore as Arthur Bach, a drunken New York City millionaire who is on some kind go brink of arranged marriage, to a wealthy woman but ends up following in love with a common working class young woman from queens Liza Minnelli plays Linda Marolla. This Movie has had a ton of nominations in the Academy aways Best Actor Dudley Moore, Best Supporting Actor John Gielgud he won the award, also Best original song Arthur’s Theme Best that you can do. Liza Minnelli was up for the Golden Global award for Best Actress but didn’t win for her role. The Song movie Soundtrack to Arthur was nominated for two grammy’s Record of the year and Song of the year but didn’t win.

The number 3 movie is Superman 2 was made in 1980 but it was release June 19, 1981. The movie was directed by Richard Lester and it was written by Mario Puzo, David Newman, and Leslie Newman. The film is center around General Zod and his band of comrades to earth, They are after Superman because of the dead plant Krypton. So the earth has the super hero but his alias is Clark Kent a reporter for a newspaper with his love interest Louis Lane and when people scream for help Superman comes and helps.. Superman 2 has approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes 83% critics gave it 4 out of 5 stars. This was a true fun loving movie !!!

With the number 4 movie is the 1981 family drama film directed by Mark Rydell from the screenplay written but Ernest Thompson. This movie talk about Allstar cast with Katharine Hepburn, Henry Fonda ( in his final theatrical film) Jane Fonda , Doug McKeon and, Dabney Coleman. In the Film Norman ( Henry Fonda ) is a crusty old retired professor trying to come to grips of getting old. Is estrange daughter Chelsea ( Jane Fonda ) spend the summer home on the Golden Pond, Norman and his wife Ethan ( Katharine Hepburn ) agree to take care of Billy, The son of Chelsea’s New Boyfriend and unexpected relationship has form. This movie was the second highest grossing film that year following behind the movie we will be talking about Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

And The Number one of movie of 1981 is a American action adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg from the screen play by Lawerence Kassandra, and based on the story of George Lucas and Philip Kaufman, with no further introduction I give you Raiders Of The Lost Ark. This movie was set in 1936, the movie stars Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones, an archeologist looking to recover the long lost Ark of the covenant which is said to make an army invincible. This movie has a lot of fun and thrills I grew up own this movie always wanted the hat too but never got it lol !!! I never knew that Tom Selleck was the original Indiana Jones but actually how to withdraw the movie due to contract obligations for his hit Tv show at that Time Magnum P.I.
