Ok so I know this is been in the works but one of my favorite reality TV shows in first seen on the Discovery channel was the hit chopper show American Chopper the guys from OCC. First the made monster choppers and amazing bikes it too this country by storm, but they also had their share of problems through out the years.

OCC was founded by Paul Sr. in 1999, he also had Orange Country Iron works that his son Danny took over. OCC came on the tv made its debut in Sept 2002, wow come to think about it that is a long time ago lol !! But this show brought some of the sickest bikes I ever seen. The show lasted 169 episodes and it ended April 2019.

So OCC took over the show waves and was an instant hit. Paul Sr, Paul Jr, and Mikey were the main guys. But you Cant forget Vinnie probably one of the best out there and Rick Jason Who was the designer on the computer. Can’t for get Nub Graphix too did a lot of the paint jobs for them before they went into the big shop.

So around season five of the show OCC was building the world headquarters 61,000 square ft building was located in Newburgh New York right by the Thru Way. This store was massive I was lucky enough to go to the shop and see a lot of the bikes. But Paul Sr. made a choice to close up shop in late 2020 at Newburgh New York, and Move his operation to Pinellas Park, Florida.

As we all know Paul Jr. had a lot to do with the bikes because he was head fabricator and Former Minority owner of the company too. The thing is both Paul’s would bump heads like crazy and sometimes it could be taken really far. I mean breaking doors smashing stuff yelling at each other like in front of employees.

Well if anyone remember the explosion happened when Paul Sr is talking to Paul Jr about his time and when he gets there which I totally get has to set example to be there, but next thing I remember is watching Paul Jr pick up the chair at first I thought he was going to throw it at Paul Sr, but he threw it to the side and all I remember is Paul sr Yelling you are FUCKING Terminated aka FIRED from OCC. Maybe it was for the best.

Well Paul Jr had a non compete in his contract so he did little things here and there and after a year he was able to open his open bike show Paul Jr Designs. And we did see some faces we all knew like Vinnie came back to work for Paul Jr. and some of the members did. But things were ugly for father and son. Fighting over the company did offer enough money want something to give something , father sueing his own soon for his shares stuff like this drives families away.

Well PJD has become a name on his own and has built some wonderful bikes, Like the Anti Venom bike Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Bikes or trikes, Gieco Bike just to name a few, in one of the episodes they found the old Yankees bike that they built together horrible destroyed. and they rebuilt even better.

After it was all said and done Paul Jr is married With this wife Rachel and his son and open a new Shop in LBI New Jersey, my plan is to visit it the store and see some of the bikes. I know he still building bikes and I am happy to report that Father and Son now have a great relationship.

But to name some of my favorite bikes Like the Black Widow, New York Giants Bike, The Firefighter Bike , Nasa , Mikey’s Blues Bike there is way to many to list but for me this was a great show and you can find on MAX.com
