So you see the first picture of me rocking my New Era Cap my New York Yankees, Yes I do own a Phillies maroon one and also a 1993 Florida Marlin cap. I love these caps for a lot of reason they last forever and they have great stories, but why not dig a little deeper something you didn’t know about the company !!
The Company was founded in 1920 in Buffalo, New York. The Founder is Ehrhardt Koch from 1920 – 1953. He actually borrowed the money from his sister to get this company of the floor at that time it was named E. Koch Cap Company. The Production of the hats was on 3rd floor, and it had 14 employees at that time. The company at that time produced over 60,000 hats.
In 1934, New Era began producing caps for their first Major League Baseball team which was for there Cleveland Indians. About 1954 the company’s fitted pro cap was named 59fifty Brooklyn Style Cap which was more modern by Harold Koch (President and CEO 1953-1984). They made improvements and innovations while he was the head of New Era, by 1965, New Era was supplying caps to about half of the 20 MLB Teams.

In 1993 New Era Caps was granted the first exclusive License with The MLB to introduce the On-field caps that players wore at that time now we are talking about 30 teams.
In 2001 Chris Koch became the New President of the company and at this point he is taking the company globally to sports. in 2012 New Era became the full exclusive sideline rights for the NFL, which is huge. New Era also signed 2015 with Manchester United. In around 2017 they also have the exclusive rights to the NBA.
In the summer of 2007 New Era voluntarily pulled three styles of New York Yankees hats from the shelves across the country, because of the design on the caps seen to be gang related. New Era is making caps really convenient for gang members, patterns on the hats were almost the same flags of the Crips, The Bloods, and also The Latin Kings. A New Era spokesperson stated ; “The Company does not market to gangs”, the company did take immediate action on this.
New Era is totally a great hat I love their styles and always fit perfect. I think everyone has a great story for them I know I do, Right now I own my Yankees hat for over 17 years, I just bought Phillies hat the Maroon and color also the 1993 Florida Marlins hat, these hats is something I love they way they look and also feel. I love baseball all around, I Will always be a Yankees Fan, but If I love the hat I will buy and rock it !!!
I will say check out the New Era website they cater to all hat lovers including for the love of the hat or if you have a hat collection. Truly a love for the hat goes a long way. http://Neweracap.com
