So here we are talking about the top 5 songs of 1982, granted I might be a little young still at the point !!! But I do remember listening to these awesome tunes of that time !!!

The Number 5 sounds is by The J. Girls Band for the hit song Centerfold. Song was released in Sept of 1981, Yes I know this is song of 1982 but the top 100 billboards names number hit song until February of 1982, where it held the spot for 6 weeks in a row!! This cool songs is about a man who is shocked to discover his high crush appeared in a centerfold spread for a man’s magazine.

Now the number 4 song Is Ebony and Ivory, this song was released in 1982 by Paul McCartney featuring Stevie Wonder. McCartney wrong this song in his farm in Scotland The song uses the ebony ( Black ) and Ivory (white ) keys from a panio it was used as a metaphor for to bring peace and racial harmony, that we can work with anyone !! This is a great song from the past we all can learn, McCartney said ” The black notes, and the white notes, and you need to play the two to make harmony, folks !!”

Wow and we are cursing along here with these awesome songs of 1982, here we are at the number 3 I love Rock ‘N’ Roll is a rock song that was written by Alan Merrill and Jack Hooker first recorded but the Arrows in 1975, and the cover version by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Now this is Joan’s biggest hit that cracked the number 3 song at the time. Joan’s version had hit qualities she took this song at that time and took it to a new level !!!

Here we are the number 2 song of 1982 !!! Once you hear the first 3 seconds of the song you know exactly where it’s from, Eye of the Tiger By Survivor. This song was written as the theme song of Rocky III . Fun fact note which I was suprised Sylvester Stallone, the director and star of the film, enlisted Survivor to write the song after the band Queen denied him permission to use their song, Another One Bites The Dust.. I think Queen did Stallone a favor and here this song was born and probably one of the most iconic songs for sports out there !!!

And the Number one song is Physical by Olivia Newton-John , lets say the music probably raised a lot of eye brows and also a guys heart seeing Olivia at this point. This was Olivia 11th studio album it was released in 1981 but it made waves again in 1982 and of course she has follow up hits Make a Move On Me, Twist Of Fate ( personal Favorite ) and also Soul Kiss. Olivia song hit number 1 in 1981 and stood there for a lot of weeks into 1982 starting the new year there.
